Must have been a plastic stick inside the tank attached to the flush handle - I dislike those, so as they break I replace them with flush handles from WalMart that have a metal stick attached to the handle.

I really dislike particle board especially the sink base cabinet. One leak and they swell up, crumble and it's irreversible.Tenants always put too much stuff into their sink cabinet. 200 bottles of hand detergent, DW detergent, cleaners, bleach, comet, rolls of kitchen napkins, candles, extra kettles, and 500 supermaket plastic bags filling every air void existing in there meaning any minor leak will not be noticed by them until it's pooling on the floor.

This is really easy to do if you have plastic drain piping from the sink to the trap adapter in the wall.

As long as the wall is open install a code compliant (ours are some kind of high strength plastic) glass block window.

I don't think the structure is damaged or weakened (no leaning that I can see) but just holes where branches came through and plastic lining dangling some. For the black mold, will using bleach water to clean it all up suffice?
