In my lease I have the following:(d) No spikes, adhesives, screws, hooks or nails, or the like may be driven into or applied to the walls or other surfaces without our prior written consent except that small nails may be used for hanging wall decorations.

I fought my assessment when it spiked a couple of years ago and found that there are 2 suspect metrics in their algorithm that they can't explain.

Yeah call the insurance company and pay a big deductible to fix a 200$ door and buy a used Craigslist stove .that would be bad for two reasons - a high deductible that is probably more than what it would take to remedy the situation and the fact your insurance rates will spike up .

Boeing, Damlier/Chrysler, Volvo all have built manufacturing plants here and following on their heels we have Costco building a second store, Lowes and HD both building more stores, Lowes Foods and Aldi's entering the market even as Harris Teeter and Publix continue to expand, Whole Foods/Amazon, etc, etc...

of course two years ago that was the hot topic when is the crash coming.I thought he had some great insight.. he said you will know your in a recession when 20 to 30% of the listings on MLS are short sales.. and when foreclosures spike way up.. 

We close at the end of October on the property I'm selling.Just got off the phone with my accountant, he is digging his heels in on this and saying everyone fights him on this and he has become an expert on this, because he went through this in December.

I know I will get a big spike in property values when that property changes hands...For now, I have a full size fence blocking them off, I have no parking signs (their traffic bled over) and I keep up the reporting (even think about trying city enforcement for codes and things if applicable).

It has spiked some deals in Chicago at least.

There are some folks here that couldn't pour liquid out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel upside down!
