I'll second what @Hadar Orkibi said about not applying for anything that would affect your credit if planning to take a bank loan or similar.I went on a rewards credit card rampage last year and signed up and was approved for 3 of them and finally denied on my fourth attempt.

I wholeheartedly agree with @Bill Hampton that the local REIAs (and there are a few) are the best way to get started.Also, I urge you not to attempt seller financing without solid, state-specific training and documents.
