I do not give any more information.Every once in a while, I get an application that at first I might have to approve in order to comply with the law because, at first glance, on paper there is not a reasonable reason to deny.

If you try to convince them that it's not a law, they will think you're lying.Even if it's not legally necessary to have, I'd add the wardrobe or armoire and, if questioned, then you tell the buyer that it "complies with the regulations" and move on.

Then I rerent to a better tenant and raise the rent to boot if possible.Also, if it gets to the point of serving notices/eviction, hand it off to a service or an atty. it will ensure you comply with the laws and usually scares folks into behaving.

Out of hundreds of tenants over the years I can only think of 4 that were trouble and about 10 or so that were difficult, but were trainable and complied with the requirements we'll say.
