So far, so good.Vinyl products are of the glue-down, peel and stick, and floating systems.Vinyl shrinks and grows with temperatures as they fluctuate.

We had several extended periods with abnormally low temperatures in Dallas this past winter, that will create high electric bills in an all electric home.You said you replaced the A/C when you purchased the home, did you by chance have heat pumps installed or is the heat just resistive heat (very expensive).Even with heat pumps, when the temps get into the teens, the cost to heat goes up significantly.

@Andrew S.Unless Even if the other units have ducting outside of the conditioned space, I fully expect the OP will see a substantial difference in utility consumption to maintain the living space at the same temperature as the others.However, before ripping out and relocating the present furnace, it may be possible to encase it in a heavily insulated box and thereby mitigate some of the loss presently experienced.

The objective is to keep the roof deck in a constant temperature range and not move the condensation point on the wrong side of the deck.Up here (above Maine) we are in what the IECC would rank as Zones 6 & 7 and the minimum R-value for a ceiling/roof is R49.
