I've reused plenty of cords that were in good shape -- all landlords do, but a cord of that age and likely condition?

New to the site and new to real estate investing (although I just finished with The Book on Rental Property Investing).My uncle (age 57) and I (age 48) want to start investing in residential single-family real estate. 

It all depends on the specific numbers, age of the condo, the specific city/town.

I have just got the bug for REI this year (at age 25) and all I have done so far is analyse deals, go to these meetups, and network.

How significant is the age of a home in your decision to invest?

it takes time to establish credit, and age of accounts is important.I agree with @Andrew Syrios something else might be hurting your score, it's not the student debt, unless you missed some payments.Maurice

Having a shared wall is much better than having a shared ceiling/floor.As to the building's age, 100 years old is not immediately a bad sign because people update properties as they hold onto them throughout the years.

You may need the entire lateral replaced probably the best thing given the age of the house.
