I accidentally tripped over the podcasts on you tube while listening to videos on real estate investing.....it has completely enhanced my level of knowledge.....Listen to as many podcasts as you can....there is a wealth of knowledge hereBest to you!

I'm also passionate about the intersection of law and technology and rethinking the delivery of legal services (and to the extent real estate law can be enhanced by technology, I'm all for it!). 

Investors that believe paying off a property enhances the bottom line are missing the true value of equity.

Connecting with experienced agents/professionals will enhance your knowledge but ultimately you have to apply your own too!

Just some thoughts:- If you generally like the type of business, I'd probably work to make them stay, especially if the business enhances the property and will make it easier to rent the apartments up top. - In the past, I've signed onto loopent, in the for lease section, and looked at what other units are renting for in the area.

Return can be further enhanced by identifying and investing in those markets that are temporarily undervalued, though this requires a level of knowledge, experience and expertise greater than what most investor possess.  

We had a tenant lined up, but ended up selling to an investor as the numbers vs. purchase price (up significantly since we bought in early 2013) weren't quite where I wanted them to be.I don't ever plan to use real estate to replace my job, but rather as another source to enhance savings and retirement returns. 

I have read many books to continue to enhance my knowledge, but struggle with the idea of actually speaking to agents and other investors.

The insurance is ACV, but an enhanced version that covers more perils.The units are all leased except for one. 

This process will enhance your sales price potential that will more than make up for the lost month or two of rent.
