Wholesaling or bird dogging deals to investors?

[Basically, I reckon programs like this just want people like you to be their bird dogs.

Def a red flag for next time (and the fake butter wouldn't melt attitude she had) when one small dog, became two indoor cats and then 6 turtles.  

But I understand - can't let the tax tail wag the dog. 

The other constraining factor is I have a pit/lab mix dog which probably precludes me from renting most places.

These two incentives combined can add up to $7000+ in move in costs alone never mind first and last months rent.So....considering that most people who can afford $3,000+ dollar apartments usually have good steady jobs, and are not the types of people who let their dogs crap all over their place, eat the woodwork, or otherwise destroy their home, I’m wondering what benefit I really get from having a deposit on hand.

Some of the business dealings described go as far as criminal behavior and fraud.
