You don't want to have a thanksgiving dinner where the family explodes about business. 

I don't think I have ever met family or friends of another I'd deal with as some way to vet them and I have never taken some young'n to any family dinner, that's just not business like.Now, you said "elderly", I see you're a young guy in your avatar, your perception of his age may be different than mine, elderly to me is in his 80s, not 60s.

I'd say run away as fast as you can if the seller will let you.Now, if the seller is your brother-in-law the worse thing is you may not get to go to the family thanksgiving dinner.   

That $30k will buy a lot of lunches or even dinners with people. 

I will be attending the hapco 60th anniversary dinner tonight if anyone from bigger pockets will be there let me know I would be happy to meet up.

That would require the discipline to save up money to afford the place, versus buying that big screen TV or going out to dinner or having your nails done, etc.Some people are spenders, some people are savers, and some people are investors.

I listen in my car and during my routine after dinner walk. 

We get lots of calls from India, Philippines, Malaysia during the dinner our from people in call centers.

I'm usually at work while my friends are at happy hour, or a nice dinner on a Friday night.
