Try reading this book by John Bogle:Enough.You clearly have more than enough money to do a blend of passive index investing and summarily discard the notion that you need to spend any additional effort for the rest of you or your family's life on anything as banal as the pursuit of additional pieces of currency that add no real value to your life.

As an investor of multiple multifamily units ... and conventional lending becoming harder to come by with each purchase I just closed all my 401k accounts and turned that money towards to RE investments the numbers speak for themself and its a no brainer decision.Having been burned by 2008 and per all the notions presented in this thread ... once you clear the notion from your head that you'd be in a smaller tax bracket in retirement and really who wants to be ... yes I do want to smaller tax managed bracket but on assets making lots of money instead of spending down my savings in hopes it doesn't run out before I die and that I can maintain a preferred independent lifestyle of my choosing ...So to all those concerned of making this jump ...

Again, microeconomics has nothing to do with politics that you keep trying to make it, you seem to have some real bias here, because you keep pushing this notion that liberalism drives wealth despite all evidence to the contrary, it doesn't, you're just cherry picking data to fit your belief, while not understanding the most basic things they teach in an undergraduate level economics class.
