Has anyone been successful in going through the variance process and do you have any tips you can provide?

Purchase price: $300,000 Cash invested: $200,000 Sale price: $700,000 We purchased a closed 18-room boutique hotel in foreclosure, renovated the inside, and opened the hotel and later the bar and nearly the restaurant before it was sold in about 2 years.

I am new in the real estate industry and want to see if you have any tips for a new agent, also any events or recommendation to start meeting people and getting more connected to the Real Estate world.

This will definitely be my last...The hotel is currently getting rebranded and unit owners have the option to upgrade our rooms using the hotels "discounted and preferred" contractors for the "low price" of ~160k (again, the unit cost me 400k and is currently valued at ~340k).

As for tips, I wrote an old piece with my best tips for property management for BP.

For those who have invested in short sales, bank owned or forclosures, how did you go about doing this and are there any tips or recommendations you can give?  

Any tips or resources to get in touch any of these companies, will be highly helpful.
