Considering the EMI on a $1MM multi-family @5% for 30Yr fixed is $5,400+property tax+insurance.We are just looking for guidance from people who are debating on the same topic or folks who have already executed house hack and have a positive or negative point of view on this topic.

The numbers worked and after a lot of internal debate, I had to logic myself into a decision: If I bought these 2, I was going to eventually refi and use that money to buy more SFHs anyway BUT the price on these 6 as a package was way better than I'd get in another year on an individual SFH.I was getting a Costco-sized discount for buying in bulk and instead of shying away from the chance, I pooled together the money from friends, family, a HELOC, etc. and went for it.

It is yours and my money the government has (or will) taken away from us so that they can give it to those who have shown that they can handle the responsibility that comes along with the purchase that must be made with it.And then we could debate how much it is costing in delaying the economic recovery in the housing market by all those who are again ending up in foreclosure continuing the cycle that should have already ended.
