Yes interest is high, but in my case, where we are able to build the houses and all...... we will have several properties under one note which will help us and we are not looking for a quick return but rather supplemental income.

Interested in growing my portfolio and eventually owning a large apartment complex after I retire from the USAF to supplement my retirement income.  

My problem is currently I work upwards of 15 hours a day 6 days a week in my business, and getting into real estate is may way to transition out of the other business (income supplement).

My Dad had a pension, would have probably needed the money to last about 30 years and 16k/year (4% of 400k) would have provided more than a sufficient amount of supplemental income for him, as well as having a high probability of success based on historical trends.
