My wife and I will be moving to San Diego next month, we're expecting our first baby and want to be closer to our families for a bit during the first year (I'm originally from across the border in TJ and have "some" knowledge of SD).

Have you considered looking across the border in Indiana?

I am "up North" in the Notch of CT (Granby, CT - MA border), but reach out any time to chat REI.  

There's already a wall along 1/3 of the border (650 miles of it).  

American Village - Just west of Duke's campus, large 80's-90s era family homes and the area south of campus bordering MLK but before you get to Hope Valley for affordable 2-3 bedroom houses on big lots.

I'd rather hang on to my money and sit poised and ready for an opportunity than lose on a bad gamble.  

Nonetheless, a gamble either way it goes.

I did an appeal myself, but in lake county which is on the eastern border of Cleveland's Cuyahoga county.

Personally, I view postponing enjoyment in order to hopefully save enough to retire someday is a far greater gamble.  

I have not.The current owner walked away from this home because he is a gambling addict who could no longer afford the payments.
