I've never used one like this, but I've seen them at the store.Note that all of these need a neutral; they can't be used in a switch loop.

A GFI w/o ground is not wired properly.The black wire goes to the GOLD screw, The white wire to the SILVER screw, and the green wire goes to the GREEN tab on the bottom.Technically:the white is the "neutral" wire and connects in the subpanel as a ground the black connects (some times via a switch aka an overhead light) to the subpanel to a circuit breaker - -black can also connect, unswitched from wall outlet to another outlet and then to the subpanel circuit breakerGROUND/GREEN is common to all outlets and is terminated to the subpanel case.

@Kevin Manz It comes with two CTs that you clamp around the main feeds, and then you land a wire on the neutral bar and a spare breaker.
