With that being said you do have lots of options.

Since you're not looking to make it a full-time career, you might consider passive investment options such as investing in real estate syndications - this GP/LP structure as a limited partner, allowing the GP to earn you a return allows you to invest in real estate without the day-to-day responsibilities.

If you're both in and this is your best option, go for it.On the other hand, looking into multifamily buy & hold properties could yield similar results with less hassle.

Great to hear that you are exploring your investment options and learning about the different options you have.

Exchange now at 500k over basis into income property with lease back and put option for 300k more. 

I'd estimate that I currently have about $300k in equity on my home, and am seriously considering borrowing some of it to invest in real estate, however I have no idea what the best options would be (syndicating, rentals, flips, lending, etc).
