is in an area that is safe, with nothing he can choke on, outlets covered so they don't put keys in them (my son did that once) nothing breakable that can fall down on them, nothing close to shelves where they can climb up on them, no pieces of anything they can wrap around their necks, nothing they can climb up on counters with, etc., you can make sure they have toys, turn on a movie and make your calls. ;)

If I have an issue I'm trying to work out, I'll grab the associated books from my many piles and shelves full, read a little of each searching for an answer and that seems to work just as well, if not better than trying to read a whole book all the way through.
