Let me add my two cents, although I'm not necessarily a big fan of this type of comparison, actually for the exact reasons you mentioned: people have different tastes and opinions and both could work from a lifestyle and/or investment point of you so I wouldn't pin them against one another (and I'm not suggesting that's what you're doing).Foreigners who buy there do it for lifestyle, investment or a combination of the two.
