They have put out very good content on BP and you tube.

You just need a few tubes of filler, a caulking gun and rag.Primer: Forget it.

Also have them put in the thick tubes to prevent flats. 

Here are some that I'm aware of:- Galvanized pipes - typically 40-50 useful life, could rust from the inside out, could get eventual pipe failure- Zinsco or Fed Pacific electric panels w/ aluminum wiring that could be a major fire hazard- Wiring in general (e.g. knob and tube)- Asbestos in the walls- Lead paint- Heating system - boiler?

(Here's looking at you Orangeburg Pipe...)1900-1940 = Knob and tube wiring, Plaster, cast iron/ clay pipes, etc. 

The knob and tubing is in the attic and basement.

One electrician, who had been part of a previous inspection, got back to me and provided an estimate for fixing electrical issues, including addressing the knob and tube wiring.

Her pitch while MLM all the way is simply not realistic in the real world and unfortunately where people make these monetary decisions based on what they find on u tube or internet this will continue on and on and on.

Hello,So the inspection report came back with these red flags, the offer for the house was 300k, then i asked for 25k reduction and they take care of all the hazardous stuff but they said ok for 25k but you take care of everything.Anyone know how would approximate be to:1) put chimney flue2)do knob and tube rewireing (i heard it will be costly around 30k)3) change furnace4)pluming and asbestos (not sure if I should do anything for the asbestor)any help will be much
