I completely agree with what @Mike Nelson said.The one thing I'll add to his good advice is that each of us finds his or her own "groove" in building rapport and closing deals where you go from following the script to having it completely internalized so it's second nature.

I think only in the Southwest would low humidity be an issue.I installed 5/8" tongue-and-groove bamboo in our last home, all areas except the bathrooms.

I was thinking painting it fire engine red (my walls are taupe, baseboard trim white, and floors oak stained walnut) and thought of painting the tongue and groove behind it white (or the taupe) as well, but not 100% sure on color scheme, as i want the FP to be the focal, and not have too many colors going on. the living room is decorated with tan/chocolate, hints of red etc....

If it is tongue and groove flooring that you have, then only the perimeter boards will have been nailed through the surface.

You can always use a tiling sponge to wipe off the excess after the grooves are filled.

It didn't have any grooves between sheets of paneling just small cracks.
