Have you looked at options in the Catskills?

Thanks if you’re really intent on buying a property in the northeast, remember that the 30 million people in the nyc area tend to vacation more in the catskills, hudson valley, berkshires, adirondacks & green mtns (vermont) more than the poconos.

My partner and I are planning to purchase a land in Catskills, NY to build two small modern cabins to use as an AirBnb rental.

My primary markets right now are the Fox Valley, WI and also Hudson Valley and Catskills in New York State.

@Mark Page The regulation and ordinances are starting to happen in the Catskills area, a couple hours from NYC and what has become a huge STR market.

Some of the cities i am thinking about include but are not limited to Red Hook, NY; Rhinebeck, NY; Hyde Park, NY; Poughkeepsie, NY: Copake, NY; Hudson, NY; Germantown, NY; Kingston, NY; Catskill, NY; and anything near that anyone wants to share as a good market  I am intrested in what people think for example about multi family market in some of the more urban areas or about flipping in the more rural ones. 

I think Hudson and Catskill are probably the best opportunities.

Decided to buy a SFH in the catskills area near the ski resorts to try and airbnb.
