It's taken months because part of MY MIND has been held captive doing things like building an agency budget, problem solving situations on the fly in an accounts payable unit, dealing with all the constant miscellaneous problems that walk into the office, all while dealing with the most surreal, television sitcom like hostile office politics one can imagine.....can not deal with it anymore!

Having a borrower relationship with more than one institution is just good business, you don't ever want to be a captive borrower in commercial real estate, landlording, fix and flips because, that lender can change policies in mid stream, you might have a balloon payment due and they can sorry, we're not doing these any more.....then what.

But the rest of the stuff about "skill point allocation" remains true - bankers ubiquitously have "captive vendor" aka "do not compete" arrangements with their employers, so they aren't allowed to broker or send the business elsewhere even if they want to, and even if they are licensed, without (rarely granted) employer approval.
