A GC is sometimes grossly misused, some have their own crew who perform more than 1 trade, some are simply paperwork contractors where they put together all the subs and manage, and some are their own GC where they have truck and tools plus a helper, those are the 3 types.

I think it really depends on the deal.. if your just getting a so so deal and or basically retail treat it as such.. large seller hold back and rental agreement.if its a smoking deal your goal is to get title and worry about it later.. if that includes renting them a U haul and some helpers then that's a no brainer..
