I am interested in buy n hold as well as flipping, all depends on the exit strategies for that property.My goal has been to immerse myself in all types of RE, I definitely believe knowledge is power but I need to get more involved then just learning/reading.

I've spent almost a year now immersing myself in learning the apartment business.

I'm not looking to begin real estate without a source of income to work with.What I'm trying to find out is if I should look for a job related to real estate, or get a job unrelated to it.Basically I want to know if I should go with income + immersion or just income.

But I will not castigate you since you may not not about this guru stuff.....with $7k, you could well be on your way to acquiring your first investment property....That said, there are tons of materials on this site to educate and equip you for the journey ahead.Get into the Eductation section, immerse yourself in the podcasts, webiners, forums.....learn all you can and ask questions.....Folks in this site are wonderful and they love to help and share information..just ask....On a good note, do not be discouraged; consider the $8k a part of the lesson learned on your way to success......one day, you will tell the success story; lookd back and thank God you are on this site....my one cent..

I've been to a couple meetups here in Fargo and though I haven't fully immersed myself in the RE game here, it was great being with like-minded individuals and hearing from folks that actually plunged in the market here.

Being immersed in RE in every aspect could not be a bad thing i wouldn't think.
