If you mean the mortgage underwrite, it needs to be a complete and functional home with no apparent health or safety issues.The bathrooms can be old, nasty, and gross, but they must be complete and functional.

Apartments ect.Call your county health and human services building and ask for a list of subsidized housing.

(ie.. the doors open, the windows work, the furnace works, and smoke alarms are functional with 10yr batteries).  

Dont worry TOO much about condition, but yes, VA will require the seller fix things that are health and hazard issues.  

I am 65 years old, in excellent health ( go to YMCA 3 days a week walk 3 miles almost every day).

The lender, a dear friend has some health issues, and I wish to repay by refinancing.
