I live in Hemet, Ca where it is desert like heat most of the year but especially summer.

The amount of money you'd spend on resolving a parcel of lbuildable land in the middle of a downtown high rise area would more than the limited benefits sought from a small desert plot of land. 

Hi Justin,As a seasoned and accredited investor with a old RE and stock portfolio accumulated over a 40 year period I'm very comfortable staying in my own farm of the North San Diego Coastla, South OC and Sough Riverside area's including the Palm Desert/Palm Springs area. 

Needed work, but was totally livable in a small, safe desert town.  

Granted my price is NOT for 1/2 acre, but much smaller. 1/2 acre in CA would cost your first born son and left arm unless in the middle of the desert!

McDonald's is always hiring.The self employed, however, cast their time and effort on the desert of risk every single day.

Home is in the desert..older home , small (500 sq ft)..rental..any suggestion?

Our idea at the time was to buy large lots out in the desert and put small spec built homes using shipping containers.

I like that the landscape runs the gamut from snowy mountains and ski resorts to lush forests to dry desert mountains and scrub to actual desert lowlands and everything in between.

I recently visited Palm Springs, Cat City, Pam Desert and La Qunita to scout for investment properties.
