Well there occasionally are the ones which have problems, sorta incorrect to label them all as "crap shoot" .. the number of reviews I have personally seen on sheratons & Hyatts having smelly floorings & cigarette smells is way beyond any..

Is marijuana smoke smell any more difficult to remove from a unit than cigarette smoke?

The thing I'm most worried about was in the 12 year tenants unit(who was not home at the time of viewing), it was the only unit un-renovated, the smell of cigarette smoke was strong and there were black steaks on the paneling of the walls in the living room. 

For the last year or two, cars have been parking in front of my building, leaving tons of cigarettes and glass pipes on the ground.  

Cigarette smoke can be a big problem in a lot of homes.

The noise maker part with the battery is about the size of a cigarette pack and costs about $10 or $15.

Cigarette stained marble in gold....replace.  

Ban smokers and pets.Have a roommate agreement with things like: parties, overnight guests, no drugs, no smokers, when rent is due and late fees, etc.Put in the lease how much notice they have to give you to leave, like 30 days.
