I'm not personally familiar with the area, but I suggest CrimeGrade, Neighbordhood Scout, and searching "top/best things to do/attractions/destinations/places to see" in Michigan or that area to see if there's potential for tourism/STR :) you could also check out if there's universities for student housing or hospitals for MTRs.
