A while back my wife introduced me to the BP podcasts and web site. 

You can A spend hours and hours on the web watching hour and a half long videos, be clueless of where to go, get sold a training that costs 5k plus (for information that you can learn on the web for free if you look hard enough, bigger pockets,crinoline, youtube, google, reitipster, ..the list goes on forever.

I have only heard good things about them here on BiggerPockets and on the web too. 

I will be doing most of the rehab myself but I will need a reputable HVAC mechanic and painter.

You could potentially team up with a reputable local wholesaler/company and allow them to perform ALL of the work and share the spread with you.

If you go No. 1 it sounds like maybe you need to do a bit more due diligence on reputable companies if your current investment closed pre-rehab and had an above-market price tag.
