It's one thing when an applicant says they have a pet - you can check out how well-behaved it is and how well the owners have trained that pet (and vice versa with respect to training of owners by the pet) before accepting them.

Most investment property down payments I am seeing right now are actually 25% vice 20%, so keep that in mind. 

Items that you would think is cheap, might not be and vice versa.

There's actually quite a brisk trade from pure real estate into oil and gas and vice versa by a large class of investorsThe three most common moves into passive real estate investing are NNN commercial, Delaware Statutory Trusts, and tenants in common partnerships.  

Most of my connections invest back in the U.S. though vice in the UK (although a couple of non military do own property here).

Due to the geographic span of the Houston Market an Agent from Clear Lake probably is not a good fit for a property in The Woodlands, and vice versa.

Partners are great, but they need to fill a need that you have that you cannot fill yourself and vice versa. 

Where OR goes so does WA and vice versa.
