Could you just do me a favor and show the calculations of savings from paying additional principal (from income, bonuses, inheritance, lottery winnings, etc.) that match up with the calculator?

I work with a realtor pretty closely and I think he would do me a solid on this one.

I would never ask someone to do me a favor without repaying what's due to them.

This is your perfect opportunity, because you can break the lease due to the unit being uninhabitable.They'll probably be incredibly stunned and try and keep you to the contract, but want compensation and to stay.  

Bingo - no $200k debt (m as the dome but no where near that amount) and a degree in hand!

I am a little stunned with those who indicate the landlord did not properly maintain the waterline.
