So I made the mistake of asking how their book their trades assuming it's in dollars or other currency.

US$ is considered a safe haven currency and tend to move up in economic/market turmoil which makes GOLD against US$, not a good bet. 

For ex, I bought a place that needs significant work done.

Lots of currency, debt, Trump stuff thrown in there that I don't fully understand at this point. 

I started investing at the age of 18 in stocks and Forex market, I learned tons about technical analysis and fundamentals through the years, and have always been a voracious reader of anything finance related. 

The theories I hear regarding this one is that over time the dollar (or whichever currency you use) is worth less and less.

If I were approved for ex: 100k and I want to use 20k to purchase the home, will I not have access to any more money in regards to that 100k approval for repairs to the home ?

Because I know that houses are more expensive in general in canada even after accounting for the currency exchangeAnd in your experience (how ever much that is) have you ever seen a fourplex for $100,000 to $150,000 in canada anywhere?

I can't believe I'm asking this, but... where can ex-cons find housing?  In an attempt to not discriminate, I'd like to at least refer this person to an appropriate resource.
