The reason some don't own even though it may be cheaper is because they have terrible or no credit or they simply do not want to own.If numbers don't work, then you either have to look via other sources (ie. not houses for sale on the MLS) or look in another area.Not everyone is flooding the market to be an investor because not everyone is willing to get into real estate.

And if I really get lucky and the restoration company takes 6 months instead of 4, I'll be looking at a minimum additional profit of 2,200 with a shot at making an additional 3,500 in total.Again, I'm the absolute first person to say short term leases are absolutely terrible.

Most are shocked they can't get into a $100k house for $1-3k down with no background check (sometimes no job), and most admit right up front they have terrible credit due to 'my ex-spouse' or some other reason.
