I ran my own business for 15 years right out of college that had huge benefits for being an entrepreneur but didn’t create any real transferable job skills.

As long as you are honest with yourself about how sure you are about your estimates you should be able to use project management skills to bring the project in near to the estimate you planned. 

As much as I have the skills to do ANY construction task, that isn't where my time is most valuable. - First window order arrived damaged and incorrect specs.

This is a problem all of us with some trade skills can run into.You just have to deal with it, you're getting the huge savings of doing the work yourself.....you can't also get the write-off/basis.....You have to do the math and see if it's worth it.

Nothing to do with your skill and ability. 

Your finance background and market analysis skills are a great fit.

You have to make things over the top or in very good aesthetic condition to do well.

Learning from others is in my opinion the most valuable skill you can learn in life.

If you've got good skills on Insta and TikTok and can build a brand there, that's free, and then you can link directly to your site.

With that being said, I learned a lot of lessons and skills regarding construction, material costs, and project management in general that I don’t think I could have learned anywhere else.
