It was fairly well accepted that you could reject all applicants with a criminal record until the other day when HUD determined the American Justice System is racist so if we deny applicants based on those outcomes we as landlords are violating Fair Housing Laws.

Here in illinois the landlord laws don't work as fast - wheels of justice definitely move slowly.And if you can afford to take that tack, I don't see anything wrong with it.But I'm trying to maximize my returns.
