And yes, it is common to have a leak originate in your unit, and flood out numerous floors below...I think my record is only six other units, but I have heard of even more extensive damage in local highrises.If you own a condo, you MUST replace washer hoses with no-burst stainless braided hoses, and not the cheap chinese ones either!

The one they used just hooked to the garden hose, and it seems I could run something like that myself annually and probably save a bunch of money and be able to use it at other properties periodically as a maintenance item.

question: How should you compensate a tenant who's water you had to shut off for one night because it was very late and your handyman could not fix a leak in the water heater hose until the next day?
