It is just the tax law.

From the little I know of law, you are not prevented from speaking with this plaintiff(?)

So the govt entities can't come in and change the laws to restrict or prohibit STRs from operating like they are in many other areas. 

If you are going to do it yourself and be successful, you must know the law inside and out and learn how to resolve problems before they happen.If only someone wrote a practical how-to book for DIY Landlords...
