You have got the privilege of hand-picking the most suitable tenant.The other great thing about Holland is that most people earn a decent salary and credit screening is easy.

I do know that those pitching their product at rich dad events are paying for the privilege of course and popping for the lunch !!

It almost sounds as if you're wanting to pay money (new loan costs) for the privilege of continuing to lose money (the non-cash flowing property).  

Some of my working interests are now asking me monthly for money due to low oil/gas prices....so instead of getting a monthly check, you write them a check for the privilege of being a WI owner. 

Bottom line, they think they deserve privileges.  

I believe that any occupant is considered a tenant and is afforded all the rights and privileges thereof.If I refuse to add the SO, then the likely scenario would be that I would (a) have an unauthorized occupant that I could not hold to the articles of the lease since they are not a party to it, or (b) the couple would move to a new place where they could both be on the lease (where, presumably, the next landlord would encounter my current situation).My questions are twofold:How do I resolve the current situation (and keep my original tenant) with as little hassle as possible?

I find it a privilege to still be able to contribute to (must have earned income less than $150kish).  

We paid 100k for the privilege of garnering a 35 year lease with the right to sub lease it. 

My material cost , my labor costs , and my profit are privileged information .
