Then, eventually, it goes to a mandatory mediation session, where you could tell them you didn't feel it would be right to put an all female household potentially at risk with an unwanted male roommate.  

We would have run into each other eventually, and refusing to talk with her would have made that eventual meeting quite unpleasant. 

Then they cook meth in the house or some other unwanted thing.

Some are good, some are unpleasant but they prepare you to do things differently in the future. 

If an applicant is picky from the beginning, this, in my experience, results in lots of extra work for me as a manager and an unpleasant relationship.Think about it. 

I had financial reserves to handle this and as unpleasant as it was I did not lose any sleep over it.being over-leveraged can get u there quicker...only question is where ”there” is. :) It can make u rich and it can make u poor.
