Thankfully, the fence is more cosmetic than anything (no pets on prem), so fixing it isn't at the top of the priority list at the moment (it will just be an eye sore until the spring).Thanks again for the input!

When negotiating things like pets, late fees, adding a roommate, making improvements etc. if I have to say “No” I just reference the lease or say it’s against our business policy.

FYI: I charge a fee any time I have to spend time making changes to an existing contract (add/remove a tenant or pet, early termination, etc.).

I rent pet-friendly apartment and houses in not-so-nice neighborhoods mostly to medical workers: almost always nursing staff and housekeeping.Pittsburgh has a lot of old houses in its urban residential neighborhoods.

I’ve also noticed a very high proportion of travel nurses live with a dog or two, I know it’s a risk for you as the landlord, but being pet friendly will definitely appeal to travel nurses.
