I recently had my brick fireplace area painted.

Because 2 more than 2 months have passed and we have not been able to use the living room, enjoy the fireplace or use the breakfast area as well  as easily access the backyard or entertain during this time.  

And, on a similar note, I'm interested in just general resources on craftsman interiors (built-ins, fireplaces, hardware, fixtures, etc. from the era).

Remove the rest of the brick fireplace and just seal up the wall so there is no more fireplace?

We found a gas fireplace in the basement without the exhaust hooked up.

American Bungalow is my favorite by far... my wife and I often agree on design, and she's been accused of having a 'man's taste in design'... meaning that she's very well happy with large oak posts and heavy woodwork on fireplace mantles.

The clients added a fireplace, granite countertops, and quite a few other things. 

Is there too much heat off the fireplace for the TV?

I will rewrite them and say "The paper might end up only being good to start a fire in the fire place."
