Unfortunately in order to find out you may just have to pay and be elated (or disappointed) with the outcome.

On the other hand, the rental business seems to be the space in which I am most successful, so future endeavors will most likely be focused in that arena.My follow up question: how did you overcome your first setback in terms of not letting your disappointment affect other areas of your life?

I was pretty disappointed when I realized this builder did not include commission on over $100k worth of options.

Often times when this line of questioning occurs I am disappointed by the number of folks who don't get it while staring right at it.  

I'm trying not to get disappointed because there could be any number of reasons why but I know that I have to be patient & keep moving. 

If you don't acknowledge disappointment as a chance, you don't set high objectives, you don't attempt—you don't take the risk.

I remember thinking that 45 days seemed like plenty of time, but I did run out of time on one 1031 without finding anything, which was disappointing because I ended up paying substantial tax on that deal.

I think if you aren't in it for the long haul you will be disappointed at the beginning and quit.
