The lock itself will still work via batteries if there is a power outage or the wifi disconnects, you just wont have app features until power or wifi has been reconnected.

It depends on the language in the policy, but I wouldn't be surprised if the policy excludes coverage for criminal acts - like assault and battery, which this appears to be.

Keep a stock of double A batteries so guests or housekeepers can replace them as keypad locks seem to use a lot of power.

I like to use the manual deadbolt option (meaning guests enter the code and have to turn deadbolt) as the battery last much longer with that setup.

Smoke detectors must have a nonremovable battery that can last 10 years.I have not seen a 9v battery that has an expiration date as far as 2023.This also requires that the 9v battery be soldered in.

Things I have come across that can lead to saving money, time, and headaches:-Smoke detectors with long-lasting battery-Low-pile and stain resistant carpet-Heavy-duty tile w/ lifetime guarantee -Long-lasting light fixtures and bulbs-High-gloss paint (easier to remove stains)I am curious to hear others weigh in on these practices and provide others.
