What happens to your RE portfolio when you pass away?

A year ago, in San Jose, assuming the unit needed a quick clean and minimal maintenance, most of my units were re-leasing in less than a week. 

agreed it does not matter for the fully engaged RE professional income varies from year to year.. this is why we hire CPA. it is what it is.. now we can take steps through the year.. like buying things that we can get accelerated depreciation on etc etc..

Not easy to find cleaning companies that are trustworthy and can deliver the fast turnaround that you need to be able to re-lease the cabin same day.

Some of my rentals are grandfathered in, but are in areas where re-building would no longer be permitted. 

@Ben Burgess Like you, I was about 8 years into my career in Tech when I made the decision to get into RE investing, and funny enough, secured my first rental property in Medford!

My local RE group is looking at having a webinar with people involved in those businesses to share their experience and that it's not as easy the social media gurus say it is If you haven't already joined a local meet up group, I'd recommend that to help you narrow down your strategy and market.
