My guess is the time and effort it took on your part up to this point, has made this into an emotional decision when it should be entirely financial.

The resident is wrong.DoJ and DoT do not recognize emotional support animals as service animals, which is why emotional support peacocks cannot fly on planes.

To be clear, there are multiple signs suggesting that the neighbor is emotionally unstable, not just the fact that he got angry because of the noise my contractors made.

If they send a "home run" deal out to a hundred investors or so then more than likely the emotional bidding will strip out all the fat off the bone with the only folks making money are the lender and contractors.  

If you don't have one, then emotions may take over and lead to bad decisions being made.

As I just advised my friend there is a cost to selling, but make a business decision, not an emotional one, pencil out the whole thing all the way down.
