That said, I believe some cities/states may other or more specific laws in place.While I'm not positive, my wife's family lives in Buffalo, and I thought I remember hearing that in much of New York, landlords COULD discriminate based on source of income, but that New York City and many parts of upstate New York were exceptions (they CANNOT discriminate based upon source of income).So, you'll want to check your local laws, but I think if you're in NYC, you cannot discriminate.

Hey I live in buffalo New York, I’m going to be putting my house in my name soon from my grandmas name.

Buffalo has a couple that do as low as 7.5%, Syracuse, Rochester, Albany all sit around 10%.
