If you have salt water or contaminated with mud or debris you also need to rinse with fresh as soon as you can. appliances etc., anything metal. 

However, I think the very modern styles causes the kitchen to lose some functionality which can be undesirable when renting...

Personally I would pass on the two cell phone stores unless one of them was a Boost Mobile, Metro PCS or other undesirable provider.
