Specifically I see a solar system on the house but am wary because I do not know if it is a PPA or leased system... or owned for that matter. 

I currently have RelayFi and love it, it has Profit First system integrated within its system.

I agree with the need of a furnace.Most mountain cabins have hot tubs.Emergency generators aren't cheap, but great to have during a sustained power outage.I've thought a battery backup system might be a good compromise.

There are people on the Internet who teach this skill for price- I don't have a direct recommendation, but they're out there.

School system?

Make sure to inspect all the major systems thoroughly (HVAC, plumbing, foundations, roof, electrical) and make sure you know what they look like today.

We also manage 2 other companies together that require accounting systems. 

From the liability/asset protection side always use licensed and insured vendors, build out a robust contract management system, make sure the owner is always listed as additional insured.
