I am a seasoned investor in Kansas City and looking at MS for future opportunities.

I’ve mentioned it to people at work and some friends who are moving to the city, but my place is either too far for them, or they prefer their own space.

Are there any city or lender required repairs that will require an immediate injection of capital?

I would actually call the city of Laconia.

You'd probably need to talk to a contractor and the City. 

I agree with @John Underwood that insurance is the biggest hurdle.

It took five months to do the work on the home in Yuba City CA.

My biggest fear is that if I ever were to quit my job, I would no longer be able to invest in more real estate (not sure if I would qualify for loans as easily).
