The government isn't mailing them copies of the violations.Assuming these items could have been discovered in a permit/violation search, it's actually your buyers agent, and the title company you should be upset with.

You will never really know who you rent your property to until you actually rent it to them, because their is no background check for double personalities, hidden anger issues, spiteful intentions, or who someone becomes when there angry or upset.

Just takes one upset tenant to create issues.
